Resumes that get blocked

Have you ever applied for a job and had a strange feeling they never got it?

The answer: They probably didn’t…

Most recruiters use an AI tool called an ATS (Applicant Tracking System). This is a tool that scans your resume and blocks it from getting to the recruiter.

Why?

It’s a way to crudely narrow down the number of applications they receive. They don’t have time to read everyone's, so they use tools to remove ones that don’t meet a certain formula.

So, how do you beat these tools - Here are two you can try out.

Jobscan:

I have been using Jobscan for about 5 years to help my clients beat the dreaded ATS. Jobscan compares your resume to a job description and provides you a percentage rating, then offers suggestions for improvement.  It also provides a keyword analysis to ensure that essential terms are included in your resume.

ResyMatch

Much like Jobscan this tool uses algorithms to analyse job descriptions and compare them to your resume. It provides suggestions on how to tailor it for specific job applications, increasing your chances of passing through applicant tracking systems (ATS).

Don’t Forget: AI tools are great, but they are not everything!  It’s really important you use them as a tool only and keep your resume sounding authentic (I can tell when AI has written them!).
