Resilience Matters

resilience Nov 01, 2023

As we start the week, we have no idea what the week will throw at us. For many of us, tight deadlines, loads of work, difficult conversations, and lots of stuff we weren't expecting all happen.

As these things come up, how you feel about it depends on your resilience score - a measure of how well you're placed to deal with the stressful events.

The Resilience Institute publishes an annual report, looking at who are most and least resilient, and this year woman under 30 are the least resilient.

This is actually a pretty big deal…like, over 20% of females under 30 are considered 'at risk' because their Resilience Ratio is that low, this is almost double the average.

This is concerning because it means young females are experiencing lower levels of trust, purpose, focus, influence, decisiveness, impulse control, emotional agility, assertiveness and sleep quality. All factors which will hold them back at work, but also in society.

Building Resilience

The great news is that there is a heap you can do to build resilience. Focus areas... like, find a job you're passionate about, building strong relationships, getting quality sleep, prioritise relaxation, remove yourself from potential conflict, and much more.

 The Main Takeaway… ðŸ¥¡

While the data is concerning, it also provides solutions. Building resilience skills is no longer a choice or a bygone 'toughen up' attitude, but a necessity for businesses seeking sustainable growth.
