It’s time to prioritise! 

You’re learning to turn off the “superhero syndrome” trying to juggle daily life without the extra stress so let’s get strategic! 

That’s where the Priority Matrix steps in — a nifty mindset tool and career hack to help us ride the waves of work (and daily life) with a bit more finesse. 

Picture this: tasks neatly sorted into four quadrants—Urgent and Important, Important but Not Urgent, Urgent but Not Important, and Neither Urgent nor Important.

Your next steps:

  1. Use two matrix; one for work and one for home (or start by focusing on one first)
  2. Make a list of EVERYTHING that is on your plate (and on your mind)
  3. Review your bigger goals (the priorities that really matter overall)
  4. Assign each of your tasks a priority using the matrix.

See how creative you can get with deleting or delegating those areas that sit in the ‘Not Important’ quadrants. What can you honestly let go of? 

Then challenge yourself further.  Can any seemingly important tasks be moved to ‘Not Important’.  

This is such a game changer and can free up so much bandwidth. Just don’t fall into the trap of thinking you still have to do it all.  You don’t. 

That’s the big shift you need to make.  

Then, focus on scheduling in your priorities (and stuff you enjoy doing, that make you feel great) followed by handling the “do it now” pile.  Then make it your mission to move the “do it now” into a regular scheduled pile. 

Once you get into the swing of things, you’ll realise how much mental load you can remove and feel so much freer.
